Please Wait For Me
Liam and Evie McAllister are happily married with their first baby on the way. But traveling back to their hometown for a wedding with their friends opens up a conversation about how the two started dating in the first place. Their story, though it has a happy ending, is more complicated than either of them would care to admit.
Fresh out of a three year relationship, Evie finds herself growing closer to her classmate, Liam, during their senior year of high school. But Evie, dead set on going off to college single, sticks him firmly in the friend zone. She can't let anyone get too close or else her secret, that she can't even admit to herself, is at risk of being exposed.
Liam only sees this as a challenge. After all, he knows they're perfect for each other, even if Evie can't see it yet. As she battles lingering feelings for her ex, Liam attempts to help her move on and heal. She leans into it at first, enjoying peeling back the shy guy, hockey player persona everyone knows and getting to know the artistic side of Liam she didn't know existed.
When the lines between friendship and relationship are blurred, things get messy. Will Evie's stubbornness and determination to escape her hometown get in the way of her accepting a good thing that's right in front of her? And will Liam, despite his best efforts, lose the first person who has made him feel seen since the passing of his father?
